The Van Dyk family has been farming in Lynden, Washington for four generations and almost 100 years. We have been developing our herd of registered holsteins for about as long. Over the years the dairy has grown to a milking herd of over 600 with nearly 500 replacement heifers preparing to make their mark.

What's Happening

October 2007 Classification Highlights - VanDyk-S Holsteins classified 179 animals the last week of October, after scoring their entire herd in March.  The results were 5 new home-bred Excellents, including the Reserve All-Washington Jr. 3 year old, VanDyk-S Sextet Karen.  Others include VanDyk-S Durham Tytianna who just calved for the 3rd time at 4-0, and a second generation excellent, VanDyk-S Jake Rylie.  VanDyk-S Jolt Ivie A Ann was scored 92 after calving in for the 6th time in June.  30 animals, including 8 two-year olds, jumped into the VG category for the first time.  This group included Tytianna's Lorenzo sister, and a maternal sister to VanDyk-S Durham Palena-ET who scored 87 at 2-1.  Rylie's Tribute sister went 86.  VanDyk-S Tribute Janie, the 2007 All-Washington Jr. 2 yr old also went VG at 2-5  

VANDYK-S Durham Emylina was the 9th place Senior Two-Year-Old Cow at the 2006 International Holstein Show in Madison, WI. Emylina was 1st place in the Western National show in Richmond, UT and also at the Washington State Show in Puyallup, WA.

VANDYK-S Outside Missing was the 1st Place 4 year old cow at NWWF Holstein Show. She was also scored Excellent 91 during classification in September.
